Tribute to Chief Rhonda Larrabee

Pacific Regional Office
Canadian Union of Postal Workers

The Pacific Regional Office of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers would like to recognize and honour the passing of Chief Rhonda Larrabee of the Qayqayt First Nation.

We are deeply saddened by this loss. Chief Larrabee was a respected and inspiring leader who dedicated her life to rebuilding and strengthening her Nation, and to sharing knowledge, history, and culture with all those around her.

We were truly honoured to have had the opportunity to learn from Chief Larrabee during the many openings and welcome ceremonies she provided at our events in New Westminster. Her words, teachings, and presence grounded our work in respect, understanding, and connection to the land and its people. She brought a spirit of generosity and wisdom that left a lasting impact on all of us.

On behalf of the Pacific Region, we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, loved ones, and the entire Qayqayt First Nation. We stand with you in this time of loss and reflection.

Chief Larrabee’s legacy will continue through the knowledge she shared and the relationships she helped build. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
